Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid released a written statement today on Mitt Romney's selection of Rep. Paul Ryan as his vice presidential candidate.
"By picking Rep. Paul Ryan, Governor Romney has doubled down on his commitment to gut Social Security and end Medicare as we know it. Romney's choice demonstrates that catering to the Tea Party and the far right is more important to him that standing up for the middle class.
"The months ahead will provide Americans with a clear choice between the Romney-Ryan plan to gut Social Security and Medicare, and Democrats' balanced approach to deficit reduction that combines smart spending cuts with asking millionaires and billionaires to pay their fair share. Democrats in the Senate look forward to engaging in that debate."
Reid is a sell out to the people of Nevada and himself. Never have we seen such a dedicated soldier to the Obama Lie.
A great strategy, actually.

What's hilarious about this is the fact that, just today, Romney is disavowing anything to do with the Ryan Plan. In so many words, he's running away from it.

That is Ryan's signature piece of legislation. Pretty much his only one. And it's off the plate.
So, did Romney choose him just because he's a face, a so called "Young Gun," just something to put in the store front window to entice people to come in, a facade?

This is great news for the Democrats. This country is not yet extreme Right-Wing, but Ryan is. I've been combing many news sources this a.m.,and this guy has so many negatives. His budget plan has been taking hits from economists for weeks, and now he and Mitt are going to run on it? Laughable! And how about his stand on women's reproductive rights. That's a real winner (written with sarcasm).
So glad he picked Ryan, now if Romney loses does Ryan lose his Congressional seat???? Did you hear how Romney started to introduce him? The next Pres..I mean Vice President? Yes, us Sun City Voters are NOT going to stand for Ryan! He would put us in a wheelchair and throw it off a cliff.

Tricky Mitt and detestable attack lap dog Ryan are a team of crooks made in hell who followed that act with a glass of Koch and Walker chaser. The influence was delivered when the money was accepted. Ryan has really put his head in the sand on this team. Connection with lobbyists, scammers, thieves and frauds like Bernard L. Madoff come to mind and having immersed themselves in the culture, there is clear guilt by association. Ethics and honesty are how you conduct yourself when no one is watching, not when the handwriting is on the wall or discovery of the chance of exposure. Donating blood money before or after receipt does not wash or absolve one of guilt. It is not particularly honorable for Paul Ryan to donate questionable donations only after a federal conviction or for Willard Mitt Romney to use blood money from families of dictators-turned investors who murdered more than 75,000 El Salvadorans to fund Romney's Bain Capital. Too much corruption and no accountability. Romney picked Ryan to divert people's attention away from his hidden loot offshore in tax haven countries and from not releasing his 23- year tax returns with ten years having paid zero taxes and amnesty for tax fraud by IRS for his Switzerland loot only. In this way, it will make Shady Mitt look better. Just because a rich person will eventually be sent to prison does not mean that he is bad; he just cannot help himself, it is his nature and you simply cannot change a snake. Once a snake, always a snake. Romney and Ryan are simply two corrupt peas in a pod. Having thrown a bone to the Attila the Hun branch of the GOP (Greedy Obstructionist Party), Shady Mitt had no choice but to pick a mirror of his own image in an attack lap dog like Paul Ryan. People like Paul Ryan who is an ardent supporter and defender of Tom DeLay for ANY reason should be taken in for a psychiatric evaluation. It seems like Tricky Mitt hired the same people McCain did to choose his VP.
At least Ryan will have a "future" after the Election..... On "Dancin' with the Has beens". Let us not forget his objection to the vampire authority and his devotion to Lilith. Both Romney and Ryan chose cash over ethics 24/7. Romney and Ryan are professional crooks. They corrupt our government for a living. How repugnant of Paul Ryan to drive a bus over grandma and her social security check, metaphorically speaking. Nip these two: Tricky Mitt and attack lap dog Ryan in the bud before it is too late. Everyone knows it takes about 20 years of preparation and ties to a group that's handy with election fraud to run for President! And I am not even talking about how somebody fixed/stole the Florida 2000 presidential election and swept it away from Gore. Beware of tampered Diebold voting machines, Voter I.D. laws, limitless billions of dollar donations and Tricky Mitt with 32 billionaire donors to his campaign of mass deception who is determined to buy the presidency at all costs.
Romney has decided that the Ryan Plan with the throw grandmom off the cliff approach is not good.
He has now decided to modify it.
He's decided to buy grandmom a shiny new wheelchair, push her over to have a nice view over the cliff, treats her nice and lets her enjoy the view.
Then, on the off chance that Romney/Ryan win in 2012, THEN they can both boot the back of the wheelchair and send her plummeting.
I guess to get the votes, they gotta do it in stages and keep people in the dark.
I think he just killed his chances by picking Ryan. I know a lot of people who love Medicare and they don't want anybody messing with it. Ryan will be a guilt by association pick as fear mongering takes over. That's politics. You may not like it but Ryan will be lambasted for trying to turn Medicare into a private system. We have all seen how insurance rates have skyrocketed under private insurance. Seniors will run from Romney like the wind. He just killed any chance he had.
Romney better hope that Sarah Palin does not support him.
What about your catering to the Chinese and Wall Street Harry? You engineered the bailout, TARP and phony green solar follies that has benefited communist China and world banksters while destroying Nevada's economy. The highest percentage of illegal people living in any state in America! Harry Reid, since becoming the leader of the Senate in 2007 has been at minimum a humiliating failure. Thank goodness we have the TEA Party because where harry and barry are taking this country is nowhere good. The Tea Party got seventy socialist democrats fired in the last election plus Nancy's gavel, in November they will finish the job. What a waste of time the last six years has been.
