Updated Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 | 2:15 p.m.

An early morning altercation Thursday at an eastern valley convenience store left one man dead, Metro Police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office this afternoon identified the victim as 37-year-old Las Vegas resident Chadrick Wilson.

A store employee contacted police at 12:20 a.m. to report a shooting in the parking lot of the Sahara Mini Mart, 5105 East Sahara Ave., near South Nellis Boulevard, authorities said.

Two men were arguing in the store, and the dispute continued as they went into the parking lot, Metro Police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said.

Officers found a male who appeared to have been shot several times, Meltzer said. The shooting victim was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 1 a.m.

Police are searching for a black male, about 20 to 22 years old, who was last seen wearing a white shirt and khaki shorts.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Metro Homicide Section at 828-3521 or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
