Fire at storage facility
A Bonanza Mini Storage facility manager was unlocking the facility gate Saturday when she noticed signs of a fire that damaged 10 storage units at 2210 W. Bonanza Road, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue officials said.
The manager contacted Las Vegas firefighters around 8:45 a.m. after she noticed smoke rising from the center of one of the storage buildings, officials said. The fire was in one of the large-closet-sized storage rooms, but it quickly spread to other units, officials said.
It took firefighters eight minutes to contain the flames, officials said.
The fire caused more than $50,000 in damage, but only one unit was gutted by the flames, officials said. The other units had smoke or heat damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
