Pickup driver killed in single-vehicle crash

A pickup driver died in a single-vehicle accident Thursday morning at U.S. 95 and Durango Drive in the northwest valley, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

Trooper Jeremie Elliott said the crash happened at 7:13 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway.

It appears the truck drove off the right shoulder of the highway and rolled into a drainage ditch, Elliott said. The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved, he said. The victim was the only occupant.

Most highway lanes are open, but drivers should expect delays in the area as NHP clears the scene and investigates.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim, pending notification of his relatives.
