Beloved actress and TV legend Betty White was inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters Broadcasting Hall of Fame in a ceremony this morning in the Paradise Ballroom at the Las Vegas Hotel. NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith presided over the ceremony.
White’s Hollywood resume is vast, and she is widely known for her roles in “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “The Golden Girls.” White, who turned 90 on Jan. 17, is the last surviving Golden Girl foursome of Bea Arthur, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty. All four actresses won Emmy Awards for the NBC sitcom.
White hosted “Saturday Night Live” after a fan-based campaign for the job in 2010 and won an Emmy for her hilarious work, had concurrent roles on “Boston Legal” from 2005-2008 and the daytime soap “The Bold and the Beautiful” from 2006-2009 and currently stars in “Hot in Cleveland,” for which she received an Emmy nomination last year.
