Now that’s one way to drink a margarita!

First, the bad news: Rockhouse Bar & Nightclub, a mainstay “ultra dive bar” on the Strip for the past six years, will be closing its doors on Saturday, May 5. Now the good news: It will soon be reopening at a new Strip location.
Rockhouse’s last bash will be for Cinco de Mayo, after which it closes to make way for the the Linq project, a $500 million development complete with 326,000 square feet of retail shops, restaurants and stages, not to mention a 550-foot-tall “observation wheel.” When opened in 2013, Linq will “link” the Flamingo to the Imperial Palace, where Rockhouse currently sits.
A reopening date or location for Rockhouse has not been announced, but the Cinco de Mayo celebration should be one to remember. A “drink countdown” runs from 10 p.m. until closing, with drink prices starting at $6 and dropping down $1 each hour until 4 a.m.—when all drinks will be on the house.
