Firefighters responded to a blaze Tuesday inside a west area home that caused $75,000 in damage and displaced a family of four.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue received multiple reports around 5:06 p.m. of a house at 5117 Pebble Beach Blvd. on fire, said Tim Szymanski, spokesman for the fire department.

A teen girl — who was the only one home at the time — smelled smoke and was able to escape, Szymanski said.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy black smoke and flames ascending from the rooftop of the one-story home.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about 20 minutes, Szymanski said.

The fire caused an estimated $75,000 in damage to the attic and living area of the home, he said. Fire investigators ruled the attic fire accidental and said it may have been electrical in nature.

The family is being assisted by the American Red Cross as a result of the fire, officials said. No injuries were reported.
