Police are asking for help in finding a 12-year-old girl last seen Monday morning east of downtown Las Vegas who might have run away to California.

Alanna Milan Walker left her apartment in the 2700 block of Fremont Street at 6 a.m. Monday and hasn't been seen since, Metro Police said.

Her family told police the girl had been chatting on Facebook with a boy who attends Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, Calif. The family had moved here from Lakeview Terrace, Calif.

Police said the Facebook chat indicated Alanna might attempt to go to California by Greyhound bus or another means.

Alanna is described as black, 165 pounds and between 4-feet-11-inches and 5-feet tall.

Police are asking the public to contact Metro’s Missing Persons detail if they have information on Alanna’s whereabouts. Police can be reached at 828-3111 or 828-5678.
