Singer, actor, entrepreneur and philanthropist Justin Timberlake is bringing sexy back to the Strip once again, but this year, his fundraising concert definitely has a different feel and flavor.
The multiple-artist concert “Old School Jam,” kicking off at 8 p.m. Saturday at Theater for the Performing Arts at Planet Hollywood, features music stars who have influenced Timberlake: Earth Wind & Fire, the Commodores, Charlie Wilson, the Sugar Hill Gang, Sister Sledge, Turbo B, Color Me Badd and Vanilla Ice. Yes, CMB and Vanilla “Ice Ice Baby” Ice.
Last year’s headliners for “Justin Timberlake and Friends,” also at Planet Hollywood, included Elton John (in an incredible, 40-minute finale set), Lady Antebellum, Christina Aguilera, Salt-N-Pepa, Diddy and Dirty Money, T-Pain and Selena Gomez.
Timberlake’s on-again-off-again-on-again girlfriend, actress Jessica Biel, is with him in Las Vegas. The (reunited?) couple dined at Mastro’s Ocean Club at Crystals in CityCenter on Tuesday night.
“Old School Jam,” which will be co-hosted by former Strip headliner Wayne Brady and Timberlake, wraps up the annual, weeklong Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open at TPC Summerlin. The pro-am golf tournament mixes professional golfers and celebrities. Biel has reportedly been accompanying Timberlake on the greens but staying out of the spotlight.
