Big games in Henderson this week

Las Vegas Sun sports reporters Ray Brewer and Case Keefer are back for another high school football discussion. They look at all the matchups this week and spend extra time on the Southeast, which begins league play this week.

Roderick Eason had 206 yards of offense and two touchdowns Friday to help the Arbor View High football team to a 42-14 victory against host Legacy.

Steve Burns had 106 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries and Donnie Gaskin had 70 yards and two touchdowns to help the Aggies (4-1 overall, 3-1 Northwest) pull away.

Quarterback Henry Hoffend completed 5-of-7 passes for 136 yards and a touchdown. Eason had 145 rushing yards and three catches for 61 yards receiving.

Despite being a run-first team offensively, Hoffend has thrown a pair of touchdown passes in the last two games.

“If it is there, we are going to throw it,” Arbor View coach Dan Barnson said. “And Henry has been throwing the ball well the last couple of weeks.”
