A man was taken into custody for questioning Wednesday in connection with the robberies of two elderly women this week outside two different casinos, Metro Police said.
The man, who matched the description of the robber, was taken into custody at the Rampart Casino, 221 North Rampart Blvd., where he was sitting in a parked car, police said. No further details were immediately released.
In both of the robberies, the suspect was described as a white man in his 20s with dark hair, police said.
At 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, a woman leaving the Suncoast, 9090 Alta Drive, was assaulted, police said. The robber ripped a gold necklace from her neck before fleeing on foot, police said.
At 8:55 a.m. on Wednesday, a women walking in the garage at Red Rock Resort, 11011 West Charleston Blvd., was pushed down and her purse was stolen, police said.
