Sandoval, legislative leaders name appointments to new economic development board

Gov. Brian Sandoval and legislative leaders today announced appointments to a new state economic development board charged with overhauling Nevada’s effort to attract and grow new businesses.

Sandoval appointed Rob Roy, CEO of Switch, a Las Vegas technology firm the governor mentioned in his state of the state speech last year. He also named Bill Weidner of Gaming Asset Management and Kathleen Drakulich of McDonald Carano to the board.

Assembly Speaker John Oceguera appointed Heather Murren of the Nevada Cancer Institute and Senate Majority Leader Steven Horsford appointed Benjamin Yerushalmi, a Las Vegas jewelry store owner and unsuccessful state senate candidate.

Senate Minority Leader Mike McGinness appointed Sam Routson of Winnemucca Farms.
