Lightning brightens skies overnight as storms pass

Lightning split the sky over the Las Vegas Strip early Sunday, as National Weather Service forecasters called for continued scattered showers and thunderstorms overnight and into the daytime hours. Locally heavy rain is possible.

Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny with isolated showers and thunderstorms. The chance for rain is 20 percent, the weather service reports.

The high should be near 92 with light winds between 11 and 14 mph. The Sunday night low will be about 74 degrees.

Monday will be mostly sunny with a high near 93 and a low of about 73.
