Silverado High’s Izaiah Thurmon had about 125 rushing yards and Coty Iwata added three sacks Friday night in a 21-12 victory against visiting Valley.

Thurmon and Deandre Gause combined for three touchdowns for the Skyhawks (1-1 overall), with Gause’s run early in the third quarter providing a comfortable 21-6 advantage.

Silverado’s defense made the lead stand.

“We played better on defense,” Silverado coach Andy Ostolaza said. “We were able to get more pressure on the quarterback.”

Silverado opens Southeast Division play next week against Del Sol (2-0).
