Virgin Valley topples another 4A classification opponent

Humberto Urias passed for two touchdowns and rushed for another Friday to lead the visiting Virgin Valley High football team to a 22-13 victory against Sierra Vista.

Virgin Valley, which competes in the 3A classification, has opened the season with consecutive wins against 4A opponents. Last week, it beat Valley by 37 points.

“(Beating the 4A schools) gives us confidence, but we still have a lot to work on with Moapa Valley and Boulder City in our league,” said Nick Hansen, Virgin Valley’s defensive coordinator. “They are both tough teams. Moapa is beating 4A teams, too.”

Kyle Totenson caught both touchdown passes for Virgin Valley, which opened the game with 22 straight points.
