Coronado blanks Sunrise Mountain, 45-0

Cody Mucino had more than 200 yards of offense and two touchdowns to lead host Coronado High to a 45-0 win over Sunrise Mountain in the season opener for both teams.

Chris Johnson added 124 yards and four touchdowns for Coronado. Defensively, Coronado limited Sunrise Mountain to two first downs.

Sunrise Mountain is searching for its first varsity win in its third season of competition.

“The score isn’t a good indication because we have a lot to work on,” Coronado coach Lance Cooper said. “We were our own worst enemy. We need to cut down on the penalties and mistakes.”
