Letter to the Editor:

Immigration law unjustly blocked

A federal district judge has blocked the tough new Alabama anti-illegal immigration law only days before it was to go into effect. The judge said she did not have enough time to study the merits of the case and promised a decision next month.

It is egregious that a state would be blocked from protecting its legal citizens and financial survival by a federal judge. Apparently states are going to be forced to allow immigration lawbreakers to swamp their schools, hospitals and welfare systems while the federal government refuses to allow states to protect their separate and sovereign rights to existence.

As usual, the federal government is more interested in allowing criminal behavior to go unstopped than it is in protecting rights, lives and property of the legal citizens in states that are fed up with the lack of effective federal enforcement of the immigration laws.

This decision follows an order from the Obama administration that admits to being incapable of enforcing immigration laws, and allowing illegal immigrants to remain in the United States as long as they do not possess criminal records. Apparently breaking the law is acceptable, as long as there is no criminal behavior in the past.

The Obama administration continues to ignore the laws of the land and further undermine American democracy. Who will stop this incomprehensible, renegade lawbreaking arrogance except the voters?
