Paradise Road closures
Sun Coverage
Paradise Road will be completely closed near McCarran International Airport for four hours tonight and again Tuesday night, airport officials said.
The road, which is the main access route from the resort corridor to the airport and the connector tunnel to the Las Vegas Beltway, will be closed just south of Tropicana Avenue from midnight to 4 a.m. both nights.
The closures are to allow crews to install three 60-foot-long structural beams across the Paradise Road between Tropicana and Kitty Hawk Way. The beams are part of the structure that will support new digital signs being installed for the under-construction Terminal 3.
During the closures, traffic will be detoured to Maryland Parkway and Russell Road. Officials suggest motorists avoid the area and use the connector tunnel to access the airport.
The new signs are electronic, allowing airport officials to change them as the new terminal comes online next year and as airlines adjust their routes. Another sign will soon be installed near the right-turn lanes from Tropicana to Paradise, near Eastern Avenue and Russell Road and on the beltway.
A separate project to update signs in the airport tunnel will also be beginning soon, officials said.
