Wedding chapels on and off The Strip are gearing up to break all-time records with marriage ceremonies booked for next month on 11-11-11. As a result, nightlife party planners are busy preparing to be part of the nuptials.
Nightlife queen Tiffany Masters was first to announce her plans for the biggest wedding reception party of them all, with 2,500 couples in Las Vegas for their nuptials attending her bash at Tropicana’s beach and nightclub venues.
She’s booked The Spazmatics to reprise The Wedding Singer role, and Tiffany is hoping more newlyweds join her festivities. Flamingo headliner Donny Osmond emceed 10-10-10 ceremonies last year.

Hyde, the early evening lounge opening New Year’s Eve that transforms into a nightclub at the Bellagio, will be a three-story venue on the hotel’s amazing Lake of Fountains, with the water show being an attraction through the night for partygoers. … Are Shania Twain and AEG entertainment moguls in early talks with Dirty Dancing and High School Musical director Kenny Ortega and hit music producer David Foster to stage her residency show at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace that begins December 2012? … What hotel spa has decided to shutter its massage and facial rooms and leave just its gym and workout facilities in tact?
Chef Wolfgang Puck opens a restaurant at the Bel Air Hotel on Nov. 1, and he’ll close his original Spago in Beverly Hills next summer for eight weeks to give it a new look for its 30th anniversary reopening celebration. Thirty years for one restaurant is truly remarkable! … STK owner Jonathan Segal, who dances with patrons when Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” gets them all dancing on the tables at the Cosmopolitan, is taking his restaurant concept to his hometown of London. … That $11,000 auction package of dinner with George Lopez and pal Edward James Olmos as a guest waiter won by TV anchor Giselle Fernandez is this weekend when George is at the Mirage.
*President Obama’s short visit to Las Vegas today to drum up funds for his re-election campaign at the Bellagio caused flight delays and traffic congestion at McCarran International Airport in between his touchdown at 11:50 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. departure. He left for stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Denver before returning to The Nation’s Capital.
*You must watch tonight’s History Channel Halloween episode of Pawn Stars. It’s a spooky “Rick or Treat” segment when Rick Harrison explores a 19th century vampire killing kit complete with a gun and silver bullets. Things get even more ghostly when a couple walks in the downtown store with a set of paranormal investigation equipment. Find out if Rick makes a deal or sends the vampire and ghost seekers packing.
*Superstar entertainer Barry Manilow has come to the rescue of tornado-devastated Joplin, Mo. America’s worst storm in 50 years wrecked schools and their music classes. Now the beloved Paris headliner will travel there Thursday to donate more than $300,000 in instruments and sheet music to rebuild the music department. “I know firsthand how invaluable music can be to get you through life’s tough times. It is an honor and a privilege to help these kids after such a disaster,” Barry said. He has donated million$ to school music programs across the country.
*The locked-out NBA stars plan to play b-ball after all right here in Las Vegas. On Wednesday, Allen Iverson reveals his all-star tournament to be played at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Arena. Allen hosts the pro tourney with four teams with preliminary rounds Nov. 12 and the title Nov. 13.

Two performers from Australia’s Thunder From Down Under at the Excalibur taped a segment of Joan and Melissa Rivers’ Joan Knows Best and wound up losing their shirts to Melissa. The dancers were surprise guests on a party bus that Joan hired for a bachelorette party she hosted for a member of her staff. She and her daughter were among seven enthusiastic passengers clubbing after her standup show at The Venetian. The next night, Melissa hosted friends and family to dinner at First Food & Bar in the Palazzo.
After visits to San Francisco and New Mexico, Britain’s Princess Beatrice of York celebrated her first-ever night in Las Vegas at Cirque du Soleil’s O at Bellagio with longtime boyfriend David Clark. Beatrice enjoyed the O signature frozen cocktail and David a beer. After the show, the happy couple went backstage to meet the cast and also looked at sculptures in Art of Richard MacDonald Gallery.
Even before Absinthe’s official grand reopening next week, celebrities are back at previews of the newly staged erotic and exotic Caesars Palace circus. Entourage actor Adrian Grenier watched the carnival of corrupt over the weekend. … Actor Jonathan Lipnicki (Jerry Maguire, Stuart Little) celebrated his 21st birthday weekend with 12 friends at Surrender Nightclub in Steve Wynn’s Encore and posed for photos with resident DJ Steve Aoki. Also at Surrender: R&B star Durrell Babbs in a group of six in the gaming pavilion.

Happy 91st Birthday to retired casino owner Jackie Gaughan also celebrating 60 years in the downtown gaming business with cake and champagne at his El Cortez home. … Legendary singer-songwriter Paul Simon debuts his So Beautiful or So What album on tour with a stop at The Colosseum, and we’ll have a report tomorrow. The Secret Sisters join Paul and his sound of silence, but no sign of onetime music partner Art Garfunkel. … Chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger celebrate National Food Day at their Border Grill in Mandalay Bay giving away farmers market apples to every guest to promote health by curbing junk food consumption.
