Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011 | 9:15 p.m.

A 30-year-old man found standing over the body of an apparent shooting victim was being booked on a count of murder with a deadly weapon, Metro Police said.

Officers responded about 12:45 a.m. Sunday to the 8700 block of Don Horton Avenue to investigate a report of a man being shot at a residence, police said. As the officers entered the home, they saw a man, identified as Michael Jeffries, on the phone standing over the victim, who appeared to have been shot, police said.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, police said. His name was not released pending notification of his family.

  1. I am going to laugh my butt off if this guy was defending his family or his property. How would the retraction be worded?

  2. next years' CSI episode !

  3. The charges came out quick on this one; What are the charges against the woman who killed the man on the east side? As I said in another post, Sahara is not in the Southeast valley but I guess that was a ploy to make it seem the same crimes happen throughout the valley.
