Regarding Richard J. Mundy’s letter Sunday:
How many times have we heard the solution for schools is to give more money? As if all other suggestions and arguments are just baloney.
Mr. Mundy doesn’t say where the money should be spent. Clark County has nice schools. Maybe it’s the teachers who need more money!
Giving tenured teachers with poor teaching skills more money won’t change a thing. Now that’s not baloney.
Students who fail a class need to take the class over until they pass, then their next teacher at the next grade can spend quality time teaching students who are ready. That ain’t baloney. It worked 60 years ago. Of course that is old fashioned isn’t it?
