Shooting victim dead after altercation

UPDATED STORY: Coroner identifies man shot multiple times Friday night

Metro Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Friday night.

At approximately 8:25 p.m., Metro Police responded to the 800 block of Dike Lane, near the intersection of West Bonanza Road and South Rancho Dive, in reference to reports of multiple gunshots. Officers discovered a man dead from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.

Homicide detectives have determined that the victim and suspect had become engaged in a verbal altercation, at which time the suspect produced a handgun and shot the victim multiple times.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult with a medium build. The suspect fled the scene in a newer model Chevy Malibu with unknown license plates.

The identity of the victim and the exact cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
