Las Vegas Sun sports reporters Ray Brewer and Case Keefer take a look around the Las Vegas high school football scene. They give their picks for the upcoming week and discuss the merits of eating orange wedges on long gameday road trips.

Quarterback Brett Doyle passed and rushed for a pair of touchdowns Thursday in the Bonanza High football team’s 52-15 win against visiting Clark.

Bonanza led 24-0 at halftime, easily improving to 6-1 overall to surpass its win total of five victories from 2010.

“We moved the ball really well and consistently all night,” Bonanza coach Shawn Dupris said. “Our defensive was also real good all night. We had a lot of guys going to the football, which was nice to see.”

Place kicker Austin Rowe was perfect on seven extra point attempts and added a 35-yard field. Jayveon Taylor had two rushing touchdowns, while Carlos Soto and Jordan Ozosky each also scored.

“We played a solid four quarters,” Dupris said.
