Tax code should be more equitable

The argument for and against a tax increase goes on and on. While I believe the tax code has to be restructured, and that might cause me to pay more, I want to see more being done to decrease fraud and waste in the system.

I also would like to see more fairness. Why should I (retired) have to pay more to educate the children of families who choose to have more than two kids when my two are paying taxes in California to educate my grandkids?

I would also like someone to explain to me why every time there is a tax increase, it is usually followed by another giveaway program. I am so tired of hearing about unnecessary public projects (parks, skate parks, museums) being carried out because the funds were “earmarked” and can’t be changed. Well, change the system and use those funds for something more immediate.

I’m tired of hearing the poor excuse that those funds are only a drop in the bucket. More drops will eventually fill the bucket.

I am really, really tired of hearing me and everyone else complaining about the system and the politicians’ lack of compromise when we, the public, can’t even reach a consensus!
