A group of NASCAR cars will parade down Las Vegas Boulevard Thursday, briefly closing part of the Strip to regular traffic.

Twelve of the top Sprint Cup Series cars will parade on the Strip between Harmon Avenue and Spring Mountain Road at about 3:15 p.m.

Metro Police said the intersection of Spring Mountain Road and Las Vegas Boulevard will close in all directions at 3:15, then the southbound lanes of Las Vegas Boulevard and the intersection at Harmon Avenue will close at about 3:30.

The closures are expected to last about 10 minutes each. Police will be directing traffic and clearing the road.
