Four distribution lines have been disrupted by the wind, according to NV Energy officials.

Areas affected included Flamingo Road and Maryland Park, Sahara Avenue and Industrial Road and parts of North Las Vegas, power officials said.

Peak gusts of 50 mph were felt around the valley, said Barry Pierce, meteorologist for the National Weather Service.

Currently there is a high wind warning is in affect until Thursday at 9 p.m., Pierce said.

Winds of 25 to 35 mph are expected throughout the evening into Thursday with gusts of 55 to 65 mph in some instances, Pierce said. Some areas will also experience light showers.

Power to all but a dozen customers has been restored, NV Energy officials said. Power crews will be working throughout the evening to restore power to remaining areas.
