Storm drain project to cause traffic delays on Lone Mountain Road

Storm drain project

Motorists on Lone Mountain Road in the northwest valley should expect traffic delays for the next few weeks as a storm drain project closes lanes of the road.

City officials said Lone Mountain Road will be reduced to one lane between Jones Boulevard and Torrey Pines Drive from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays beginning Monday.

Flaggers will control the road during the closures, which are expected to last until Dec. 19. The road will return to two lanes by 4 p.m. each day for evening travelers.

Officials warn that the lane closures will cause traffic delays and suggest motorists use Craig or Ann roads as alternatives.

The lane restrictions are to allow work on a $9 million storm drain project that began in January and is scheduled to conclude next summer.

The contractor on the project is Perini Construction, but Las Vegas Paving is doing this portion of the construction. The Clark County Regional Flood Control District is funding the project.
