Police have arrested 21 Occupy Las Vegas protesters who were sitting down in the middle of Las Vegas Boulevard as part of a demonstration marking the two-month anniversary of the protest movement in New York City.
Las Vegas police Lt. Jason Letkiewicz said protests were peaceful and there were no injuries as officers put the arrestees on a police bus about 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police had been diverting traffic around the demonstrators, who were chanting, "We are the 99 percent."
The protesters will be taken to the Cashman Center convention facility and issued summonses on misdemeanor charges of pedestrian in a roadway. Police say two who refused to walk to the bus during their arrests were taken to jail.
The arrests are a first among Las Vegas "Occupy" demonstrations.

Good job Metro
They were talking up in their meetings how they needed some civil disobedience to take place soon in order to get attention and street cred with other city Occupy groups. Now they have it. Must be a proud moment for them.
With all the deaths connected with people crossing the street lately these people must be crazy to sit in the middle of the street. Talk about a death wish. Or was that what they were hoping for so they could get attention???
go occupy the unemployment office and get out of the street.
99% got laid off/fired cause you were not as good a worker as someone else. Step up your adult responsibilities, stop blaming others for your short comings.
So how does blocking traffic on Las Vegas Blvd send a message to corporate "greed"? In NYC they will block traffic on the bridge? Do they not realize they are messing with the average working persons' life who need to be at work, home, pick up the kids, drive the bus, deliver supplies, etc? Lay down in front of the corporate jets idiots! A pathetic bunch who do not even understand their own cause!
Many of the occupiers of OCCUPY Las Vegas, were unaware of the $650+ fines they will face paying individually for this little "attention getter."
Think it through next time!
There are much better places to protest that will not cause so much grief for themselves or innocent bystanders.
