A Las Vegas man was arrested early Sunday for allegedly sexually assaulting and attempting to rob a 54-year-old woman at a bus stop near Bonanza Road and Main Street, according to Metro Police.
Marcus Smith, 24, was arrested around 2 a.m. Sunday on the 700 block of North 9th Street, police said.
The woman, Kathy Priest-Ritner, said a man had approached her at the bus stop and asked her if she wanted to make some money, when she said no the man sexually assaulted her and tried to steal her purse, police said.
According to police, Priest-Ritner managed to run from the suspect and flag down a passing car. The driver of the car called police.
The woman was transported to University Medical Center for a sexual assault exam, police said.
