New York woman charged for allegedly performing $1,000 unlicensed surgeries

A 55-year-old New York women arrested for allegedly performing $1,000 eye lifts out of a southwest valley home without a medical license now faces felony charges.

Jing Qu, of Flushing, N.Y., was charged with a felony count of burglary and two counts of practicing medicine without a license, according to the Clark County District Attorney's office.

Metro Police responded Monday evening to a home at 7700 block of Somerhill Point Way after receiving a call from a neighbor, according to the arrest report.

The neighbor who called in the incident had gone over to the home to complain about a vehicle blocking a driveway and allegedly saw three people inside the home performing a surgical procedure, police said.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, Qu is being charged for performing eye lifts and injections on the home owner and one other woman.

Qu told police she was a doctor in China who specialized in plastic surgery but was not licensed to practice medicine in the U.S., according to the arrest report.

The home owner, Ping Zhang, told police she paid Qu $1,000 for her eye lift procedure, according to the arrest report.

The patient was transported to an area hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.

During a search of the home police uncovered medical items such as gauze, surgical blades and anesthetics, police said.
