Republicans register almost twice as many voters as Democrats in October

Almost twice as many Nevadans registered as Republicans than Democrats in October, according to numbers released today by the Secretary of State's office.

The office's elections division reported that 4,336 residents registered to vote, with 1,819 registering as Republican and 926 registering as Democrat.

Democrats still have a 65,000-active-voter registration advantage in Nevada — 475,218 Democrats to 410,950 Republicans.

Democrats have been better organized and funded, most clearly since the 2008 presidential caucus. Republicans have struggled to keep up, but have tried to improve their operation.
