District Court Judge Jackie Glass speaks during O.J. Simpson’s sentencing hearing at the Clark County Regional Justice Center in Las Vegas, Friday, Dec. 5, 2008. Simpson was sentenced Friday to at least 15 years in prison for a hotel armed robbery after Glass rejected his apology and said, “It was much more than stupidity.”

Step aside, Nancy Grace. Judge Jackie Glass is ready for her close-up.
Starting in September, Glass, the Eighth Judicial District Court judge of Clark County, will host CBS’s “Swift Justice,” an Emmy-nominated courtroom program. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Grace, the show’s original host, left because the show relocated from Atlanta to Los Angeles.
Previously, Glass presided over specialty courts: drug court, felony DUI court and mental health court.
“I was humbled to be given the opportunity by my colleagues to preside over specialty courts in this jurisdiction,” Glass said in her resignation letter to Gov. Brian Sandoval.
The specialty courts “serve important roles in our court system,” she said.
Glass is perhaps best known for having presided over O.J. Simpson’s 2008 trial, where she sentenced him to nine years in prison without parole for armed robbery.
District Court Chief Judge Jennifer P. Togliatti said Glass’s departure “will leave big shoes to fill.”
“Our specialty courts are a well-oiled machine thanks to her leadership. Her tireless advocacy has brought to light how effective and important the specialty courts are to our community,” Togliatti said.
The Commission on Judicial Selection will recommend three candidates to the governor for his selection for appointment to the seat. The process is expected to take several months.

"step aside, Nancy" ... are you kidding me? Nancy's departure will be an exceptional loss to Swift Justice many times more than Glass will be a loss to lowly Clark County Courts. Congratulations on falling into the role nobody else wanted, Glass.
There is good money in the TV judge business. According to Forbes, Judge Judy currently earns $45 million per year for her show.

The winners are Clark County Residents as Judge Glass is crooked as the day is long. She has given extreme preferential treatment to her husband's clients and political contributors. I've got the paperwork to back it up when her Husband had 4 clients that should have been charged with attempted murder. Afterall there was video evidence that the nightclub eventually destroyed, there were witnesses by the dozen but when it came time to swear out an arrest warrant, judge Glass pushed aside judge Bonaventure and denied the warrant for arrest of her husband's clients. She let another attempted murder off with 1 year probation after he stabbed his victim on the front lawn of his own house, after being unable to extort 20,000 from him. Of course this "bad guy's" father had given glass tens of thousands of dollars for her election campaigns.
It's all out there for the world to see, but apparently ethics aren't a job requirement for CNN
CBS did the citizens of Clark County a big favor by enticing this corrupted judge to resign from the bench.

Hey Steve, I grew up in Vegas, and have an old school mama. Before I go to school each day, she often tells me "son, don't forget to eat your veggies at lunch, for gods sake don't "tweet your meat" like that Wiener guy, and don't cross anyone who's last name ends in a vowel, kapish?".
Nuff said.
