North Las Vegas Police were investigating a shooting Wednesday night that left a 20-year-old man dead near Carey Avenue and Revere Street.

Police spokeswoman Chrissie Coon said officers responded to the 800 block of Red Sox Avenue shortly before 6:30 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired.

When police arrived, they found the man dead in the front yard of a home with at least one gunshot wound, she said. The victim lived in the neighborhood but not at the house where he was gunned down, police said.

Coon said detectives had leads on possible suspects but could not release details.

The slaying was the fourth in North Las Vegas this year.
