Las Vegas’ next UFC card, UFC 130 scheduled for Saturday May 28 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, lost its Main Event fight Monday.

UFC announced via its website that the lightweight championship bout between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard has been canceled. Both the champion Edgar and the challenger Maynard suffered injuries during their respective training camps.

The bout will likely be rescheduled for later this year, but the UFC has not set a date. The matchup was supposed to be the third showdown between the two top 155-pound fighters in the world.

Edgar and Maynard fought to a draw at UFC 125 earlier this year, which paved the way for an immediate rematch. Maynard beat Edgar in their previous fight via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 13 in April of 2008.

The rest of the fights on the card will shift up a spot to make up for the absence of Edgar vs. Maynard III.

The Main Event is now a light heavyweight scrap between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Matt Hamill. Las Vegas heavyweights Frank Mir and Roy Nelson will assume co-main event positioning. A welterweight fight between former top contender Thiago Alves and up-and-comer Rick Story moves into the pay-per-view broadcast.
