Trumpet master Tony Scodwell, a Las Vegas resident for four decades, will lead a 16-piece big band at a special concert on Saturday at the Charleston Heights Arts Center.

The show begins at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 on the day of the performance.

After studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, his hometown, Scodwell spent much of his career touring with such names as Harry James, Stan Kenton and Doc Severinsen. He also has been making trumpets and selling them out of his Las Vegas home since 1988.

Saturday's concert will feature an assortment of classic big band compositions. To purchase tickets in advance, call 702-229-6383 or visit the city's Cultural Arts office's website.
