Great. A smartphone app to help drunk idiots

drunk phone

The argument against smartphone apps that alert drivers to DUI check points seems a safe one for Congress. We all know that on major holidays, local news programs announce checkpoints, and that Metro sees it as a way to deter drunk driving. But this 24-7, easily accessible information assuring drunks that they can keep imbibing knowing that they’ll find a checkpoint-clear route home is a little off-putting. I mean, if there’s one thing worse than a drunk driver it’s a drunk driver checking their smartphone app while swerving down the road.
