John Ensign will give his final address as a sitting U.S. senator to the Nevada Legislature.

The Nevada Republican is scheduled to give a speech to a joint session of the Senate and Assembly Tuesday night in Carson City. All members of the state's congressional delegation address state lawmakers during regular sessions held every two years.

Ensign is under investigation by the Senate Ethics Committee following his admission in June 2009 to having an extramarital affair with a former member of his campaign staff and helping her husband obtain lobbying work.

Earlier this month he said he would not seek a third term in 2012 because he was worried about the effect of a campaign on his family.

Republican Rep. Dean Heller has announced his intent to seek Ensign's seat.
