Car accident site
Three people suffered injuries in a two-car accident early Saturday morning in North Las Vegas, according to Metro police.
Cira Martinez, 54, suffered critical injuries, Jose Martinez, 63, suffered serious injuries and Sharon Hewitt, 46, suffered minor injuries in the collision, which occurred at 2:24 a.m. on Carey Avenue at Revere Street, police said.
All three were transported to University Medical Center Trauma, police said.
Officers said evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate a 1996 Honda Civic, driven by Hewitt, was traveling east on Carey at Revere when the accident occurred.
Police said the Honda went straight over the center median in the roundabout and then ran into the rear of the Martinezes' 1994 Chevrolet Lumina, which was also traveling east on Carey.
The accident remains under investigation, police said.
