Shooting

Metro Police say they are investigating a shooting in the northeast valley in which a man was wounded Tuesday night while taking out the trash.

Police were called to the 4300 block of Stockbridge Street, near Lake Mead Boulevard and Lamb Boulevard, about 7:30 p.m. after the man’s wife found him on the garage floor, authorities said.

The woman told officers he went to take out the trash, and she later heard him screaming her name from the garage, police said.

The man was transported to University Medical Center with a gunshot to the lower back, police said. He was stable and conscious with serious injuries, police said.

Metro violent crime detectives were headed to the scene. Police did not identify the victim.
