Boise State celebrates after scoring a touchdown against Utah in the Maaco Bowl at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas Wednesday, December 22, 2010. Boise State came out with a 26-3 win.

This year’s Las Vegas Bowl football game will be at 5 p.m. Dec. 22, organizers announced Friday.

It was also announced that Maaco, Inc. has picked up its option year for 2012 and will serve as the bowl’s title sponsor for at least two more years. This year’s game will be the 20th edition.

“We drew the second-biggest crowd in our bowl’s history along with record TV ratings on December 22 last year so our executive committee feels that is a perfect date for this year’s game as well,” Tina Kunzer-Murphy, MAACO Bowl Las Vegas executive director, said in a statement.

Last year’s bowl festivities provided an estimated $28.6 million in economic impact to the Las Vegas area, courtesy of 34,425 out-of-town visitors to Southern Nevada, organizers said.

Boise State beat Utah 26-3 in last year’s game. The game features the top choice from the Mountain West Conference against the fifth pick from the new Pac-12 Conference.

The bowl is owned and operated by ESPN Regional Television. Tickets for this year’s game go on sale June 20 starting at $25.
