21 arrests and five hospitalized after Night 1 of EDC

Electric Daisy Carnival Night 1

Justin M. Bowen

A look at the first night (and early morning) of the Electric Daisy Carnival at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Despite fears that Electric Daisy Carnival may turn deadly—as it has in Dallas and Los Angeles—Metro Police statistics released this morning show that among Friday’s 75,000 partiers, there were no reported fatalities and only a dozen drug arrests. Medics treated more than 300 people and took a few to area hospitals.

Here’s the full list of citations:

• 6 misdemeanor arrests

• 14 felony arrests, 12 of which were drug-related

• 1 DUI alcohol arrest

• 1 traffic accident

• 142 medical calls per the MedicWest Ambulance Service

• 300 people treated by medics

• 5 people transported to area hospitals

• 31 ejections from the event
