I have just received about my 25th letter from a charity or advocacy group asking that I fill out a survey about immigration and mail it back, preferably with money. What a racket! I believe that if every voter sent one of these surveys to their senator or representative it would not make a whit of difference. Neither party has any desire to do anything about illegal immigration.
It is not the color or race that is objectionable. If you did not come into this country legally that makes you illegal. The Republicans are scraping the bottom of the barrel looking for places to cut spending, but I guess they don’t figure that it costs anything to manage the millions of illegal immigrants who are here. Hospitals, schools, jails, prisons and jobs — the list goes on and on.
Our borders are still porous. It all boils down to votes. Neither party wants to offend and maybe lose one Hispanic vote. The heck with what our citizens want.
