Metro Police said an armed and suicidal man died after police shot him Monday night at a residence in the northeast valley.
Metro spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said police responded at 10:38 p.m. to reports of a domestic disturbance at a home in the 2800 block of Taurus Court, near Sandy Lane and Alto Avenue.
A second call to police indicated the man was armed with a gun and was threatening to kill himself, Meltzer said. After officers arrived and tried negotiations, police were involved in a shooting that left the man dead, she said.
Police haven't released what prompted an officer or officers to shoot the man. The investigation is ongoing.
