Faith Lutheran High football player Don Pearson has verbally committed to Navy, according to an e-mail from the Pearson family.

A wide receiver and linebacker, Pearson had 72 catches for 1,033 yards and nine touchdowns in 2010.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Pearson also had an offer from UNLV, which he visited three weeks ago. Pearson also received late interest from Colorado and Minnesota.

He’ll become the third from Faith Lutheran at Navy, joining defensive back David Sperry and linebacker Garrett Sherwood.

Bishop Gorman defensive back Togasii Peko is also committed to Navy.

National signing day is Wednesday. That’s when verbal commitments become official once an athlete signs his national letter-of-intent.
