Melvin Guillard treated Fort Hood, Texas, military personnel to a first-rate UFC upset Saturday night.

Guillard (27-8-2) knocked out Evan Dunham (11-2) in the first round of their headlining fight at the UFC: Fight For The Troops 2 event Saturday night.

“I want my title shot,” Guillard told the UFC website after the fight. “Keep lining them up and I’ll keep knocking them down. I will go undefeated in 2011.”

Dunham entered as a heavy favorite in the lightweight bout and quickly landed the first strike with an early kick. It was all Guillard after that.

Guillard threw a flurry of punches and eventually landed a left knee to Dunham’s face. The knock took Dunham to the ground and Guillard continued attacking, forcing the referee to stop the fight at 2:58 in the first round.

It was Guillard’s fourth straight victory and Dunham’s second consecutive defeat. Guillard earned the Knockout of the Night award.

UFC 158
Nick Diaz fails to back up years worth of talk

UFC 158 A welterweight title fight that felt incredibly different wound up remarkably the same. Georges St. Pierre manhandled nemesis Nick Diaz with his wrestling. St. Pierre won every round on every judges' scorecard in Montreal for his sixth straight unanimous-decision victory. Diaz had preached his superiority over St. Pierre for years, but when he finally got his chance, he looked as helpless as all the other challengers to the 170-pound division's throne in the last six years. St. Pierre's consistency continued to amaze. Now it's on to Johny Hendricks, who defeated Carlos Condit in the evening's co-main event. Could he be the one to finally threaten St. Pierre?
