Police respond to robbery, gunshots at North Las Vegas Walmart

North Las Vegas police responded to a shooting Tuesday afternoon at a Walmart Supercenter next to the Fiesta Rancho Hotel and Casino, police said.

Police responded shortly before 3:30 p.m. to a report of a robbery in progress at Walmart, 3950 W. Lake Mead Blvd., near Rancho Drive. The victim of the robbery was a customer who fired his gun at the suspect, but missed, police spokesman Tim Bedwell said.

Police said the robber, who fled the scene in a car, also battered the man. The robbery victim was being examined by medical personnel at the store.

Bedwell said no one else was injured.

Police had no other immediate details on the victim or suspect.
