Why does Israel waste its time on “peace” talks? Arab leaders have never wanted either “peace” or a Palestinian state.
If they wanted peace, they would never have gone to war in 1948 when Palestine, along with Israel, was created by the United Nations.
They continue to need Israel to be their scapegoat so as to divert their own people from the fact that they are ruled by despots.
It’s their necks they are concerned with, not the Palestinians.
Israel ought to just wash its hands of the territories, declare peace on its own, recognize the West Bank and Gaza as Palestine (united or not — that’s a Palestinian problem, not an Israeli one) and leave the Palestinians to their own devices so long as they desist from attacking Israel.
