An early-morning fire caused $200,000 in damage to four downtown businesses after a building's roof caved in, fire officials said.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue crews responded to the two-alarm fire at 2:20 a.m. after a Metro Police officer noticed smoke coming from the building on the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Bonneville Avenue.

Firefighters encountered heavy fire inside the 3,300-square-foot building when they arrived, fire department spokesman Tim Szymanski said. They knocked down the fire at 3:39 a.m.

No one was injured, but officials said the building has extensive damage from the roof caving in and heavy fire damage in the attic.

Most contents from the four businesses — The Strip Sandwich Shop, Bingo Bail Bonds, Rescue Bail Bonds and Eichhorn & Hoo Attorneys at Law — are salvageable, officials said. While battling the blaze, firefighters spread plastic sheets inside the businesses to save the contents, Szymanski said.

Debris from the fire littered the ground outside the white, stucco building Wednesday morning as workers assessed the damage. The property is cordoned off, but Las Vegas Boulevard and Bonneville are both reopened to traffic.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
