Since 1935, the Las Vegas Helldorado Days have celebrated the city's connection to the Wild West.

The city is asking for entrants into this year's parade now through April 25.

The first 120 entries will be accepted, and the application is free. The 2011 parade, which draws thousands of people every year, is scheduled for 7 p.m. May 14.

The Helldorado Days run from May 12-15.

Those interested are encouraged to keep the festival's Wild West theme in mind as they prepare their applications, the city said in a news release.

Entries will be judged on appearance, theme and creativity, and the winners will be announced after the parade.

To apply, click here or call 702-229-6776 for more information.

Volunteers are also needed to assist the parade at the staging area, along the route and at the disband area. The parade is expected to last 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and volunteers are asked to be on site at 4 p.m.

For more information, visit the Helldorado Days Parade's website.

The four-day event, hosted by the members of Elks Lodge No. 1468, will feature a professional rodeo competition, the parade, golf and poker tournaments, an art show and auction, exhibits, food and more.
