Anthony M. Carleo, the alleged “Biker Bandit” and son of a Las Vegas judge, is due in court Monday morning on charges of robbing $1.5 million in casino chips from the Bellagio on Dec. 14, 2010.
Carleo, 29, was arrested on Wednesday at the resort after he was caught trying to sell the stolen $25,000 chips to an undercover Metro detective. Police recovered $900,000 worth of chips and have accounted for another $300,000 in chips.
Judge Ann Zimmerman of the Las Vegas Township Justice Court, Dept. 8, is scheduled to preside over the hearing on Monday at 8:30 a.m.
Carleo, the son of Las Vegas Municipal Court Judge George Assad, is charged with robbery and burglary with a deadly weapon. He is currently being held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center.

To the Metro detectives handling this case, you did a great job. You made a strong case against Carleo (Assad) and showed patience and discipline. Job well done.
Good job ... we don't want people around the country to think you can come into town a rob us blind ... Murders , well not so much
His father who is a judge was involved with a bookie that was commiting fraud in the early 1990's..
The payments stopped then the "Judge" became a rat by reporting the bookie..The son sure learned to be a thug from his pops.
Like father like son!
Metro did a great job? Ask the witnesses and informants who had their names, addresses, and phone numbers published in a poorly-written police report if they think metro did a great job. This guy made it so easy that Barney Fife could have caught him.
I think I'll go watch Ocean's Twenty-five starring George Clooney as Danny Ocean and Matt Damon and Brad Pitt and gang.
But then, we'd be a few million short since Ocean Spray cranberries out of Henderson doesn't do low-budget film commercials.
What's he going to "sing" about?
Based on stats, should be a 25 year sentence. Throw in the SunCoast robbery and a few other misdeeds and this guy will be a senior citizen when he gets out.
Long way from "loving life, gambling, the women of Las Vegas"..oh yeah, and med school.
Next time he gambles legally it will be in the senior citizen bingo parlor. Next time he dates it will be at a seniors dance. Dumb kid. How on earth this guy was enrolled in med school is beyond me. Dumb as a stump. Maybe if he shut his mouth, buried the 25k chips and just left town he might still be running around. Anyplace is better than jail, that's for sure.
Does the Judge gamble? Who's gun was it? Was the Judge there when they searched the house? Is the "Mountain Mafia" involved (Pueblo, CO) Will this guy's stepfather be there? Does he gamble? Will they eat meatball subs on pita bread for lunch? Should he be put under suicide watch? Will Bashar Assad attend the trial?
If I was Assad's opponent in the next election, I would have a bunch of people with signs stand outside the court that would read: "Like Father Like Son?"
